North Korea can be considered as one of the most isolated nation in the world. People don’t know much about this country mostly because North Korean government has not allowed the country to get exposed to outer world by suppressing its own media and media from other countries to enter the country.

After World War 2, Japan left the Korean mainland and the country was split into 2 separate nations one which supported communism and other which supported democracy. South Korea was backed up by US and North Korea led by Kim Il-sung become a communist nation with the support.

Following the footstep of his father Kim Jong- Il also kept the county shielded from any exposure with the imperialistic ideology and the legacy is continued by his son Kim Jong-Un after his death in 2013. So little is known about North Korea that the country is almost alien to the rest of the world. The conflicting claims of sovereignty led to the Korean War in 1950. An armistice in 1953 committed both to a cease-fire, but the two countries remain officially at war because a formal peace treaty was never signed. Both states were accepted into the United Nations in 1991.
