The legal battle between the two smartphone giant is still ongoing and today a Apple’s lawyer has asked a judge to force Google to turn over documents related to it’s Android operating system.
As Android is used in all of Samsung’s products so Apple is concerned that the Samsung is not doing a complete check over it’s products. In this second round of patent-infringement lawsuit against South Korean smartphone giant, Apple’s lawyer Mark Lyon has raised a issue that Samsung’s allegedly infringing products and much of its functionality is provided by Android.
Google’s lawyer, Matthew Warren has said that “As a third party to the case, Google doesn’t have same legal rights that Apple and Samsung has.”
The second lawsuit is in response to the previous case in which a jury awarded Apple $1.05 billion, finding Samsung infringing six of Apple’s mobile device patents. U.S. district judge Lucy Koh later lowered the damages to a total of $639.4 million and ordered a new trial in November for some of the products.
