Google is about to launch a “unified” chat application called “Babel”. Google has vast range of products on the internet which obviously needs a messaging platform which can connect Gmail, Google+, Chrome and Android also it is unifying into iOS.

There is still little time before it is launched, it is speculated that it will be laaunched in Google I/O this year. Right now many are using many people are using Google products around the world like Google Talk, Google+, Gmail and Hangouts. Right now Gmail and Gtalk are integrated but are still there are many things that are left out like G+ Messenger and all other products. These products are now going to connected or unified by this project ‘Babel’, still it is not the finalized name of the messenger.

The name of the unified messaging system most probably would be Babel which means(“A confused mixture of sounds or voices”). According to Droid-Life, Babel would include following features:

  • Accessing same conversation list from anywhere
  • New conversation based UI
  • Advanced group conversations
  • Ability to send pictures
  • Improved notification system

The service is likely to launched in Android, iOS, Chrome, Google+ and Gmail but there was one thing which is missed in this service is Google Voice. Is Babel going to change the way we do our messaging ?
