Apple Sells 2 Million iPhone 5 In China This Weekend.

Apple has published that it has sold over 2 million iPhone 5s in China during its opening weekend of sales. Apple has never told or announced opening weekend sales for China anytime.

This has been record opening weekend sales in the China said Tim Cook the CEO of Apple in a press release. Apple’s stock might go up as sales in China has always been a source of concern for Apple investors lately as Android now running on every 3 smartphones out of 5.

On the day of the iPhone 5 launch in China, there was not the usual frenzy of people waiting to buy the smartphone. However considering it as a big country with largest population, Apple implemented a new online reservation system to prevent the frenzied crowd.

This success of Apple has turned out to be huge but Android is still very aggressively growing in the market in the $150 billion market but as Dell has dropped Android support and picked up Windows, next change might be around the corner.

Apple’s Press Release : “Apple today announced it has sold over two million of its new iPhone 5 in China, just three days after its launch on December 14. iPhone 5 will be available in more than 100 countries by the end of December, making this as the fastest iPhone rollout ever.”

“Customer response to iPhone 5 in China has been incredible, settling a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China,” said Tim Cook.”China is a very important market for us and customers there cannot wait to get their hands on Apple products”.

Looks like it has been good Christmas gift for Mr Cook, but will this smile on Apple’s CEO will stay longer or the South Korean giant Samsung and Windows ready to rub that off the iconic company?. What do you think ? who is going to be long run winner? Apple, Windows or Samsung ?
