eBay unveils new company logo, ditching the floating letters for a more traditional, simple font, but with the same color scheme. eBay is the world’s largest online marketplace, where you can practically buy or sell anything.
“The eBay logo is known the world over, so changing it was not a decision made lightly,” the note reads from Devin Wenig when the company decided to change its logo after a decade. In his Note he furthers stated the essence behind the new logo “Our refreshed logo is rooted in our proud history and reflects a dynamic future.
Its eBay today: a global online marketplace that offers a cleaner, more contemporary and consistent experience, with innovation that makes buying and selling easier and more enjoyable. We retained core elements of our logo, including our iconic color palette. Our vibrant eBay colors and touching letters represent our connected and diverse eBay community – more than 100 million active users and 25 million sellers globally and growing”.
The logo clearly looks more subtle than the previous but still has the same vibrant colors but the words are sleek and crisp unlike in previous logo .The words still touch each other but they no longer overlapping which points towards “cleaner” and “more consistent” experience than before.
The new logo will officially roll out in October (the site’s front page still displays the old logo).
